BioToi is a portable toilet system especially developed to meet the strict requirements of the military forces. The product is, however, very suitable for aid organisations and private use i.e. for camping, boating and other outdoor activities.
BioToi was developed in co-operation with the Norwegian military and was successfully used for the first time during a NATO exercise in Norway in the winter of 1999. The most important criterion of quality, function, hygiene, and environmental considerations has been met making BioToi an excellent quality product.
BioBags which are completely compostable and biodegradable are delivered together with the toilet. The bag covers the entire seat making it very hygienic and user friendly. The BioBags are also very solid which makes the use of the BioToi safe and hygienic.
The BioBags disintegrates quickly when composted in floating sewage. With heat treatment at 140 degrees Celsius in floating sewage the BioBag will disappear rapidly.
In 2006 BioBag International as introduced a new product for homeowners not connected to the regular brown waste water system: BioLatrin.
BioLatrin is a patent pending biodegradable injection moulded bin, aiming at simplifying the collection and treatment of faeces from holiday cottages etc. The bin has been developed and tested over several years in Swedish municipalities before being launched, and it is now a commercial product fulfilling its purpose. BioLatrin has been used/stored up to six months in cottages without causing any problems to the crucial collection system.
BioLatrin considerably simplifies the treatment process in composting plants as it is biodegradable and can be composted together with the content directly after use without any pre-treatment. Through testing and actual use BioLatrin has been biodegraded within 8 – 12 weeks and proven to function in a composting environment. It also gives a better environment for workers at the treatment plant compared to other systems on the market.
The BioLatrin bin is made from Mater-Bi, a raw material that complies with the European
Standard EN 13432 for compostable packaging.
